On first try, the auger was a bit slower than expected, but the earth was hard, and VERY DRY. After a good water soaking, it was a whole different experience. Using a CORDLESS DRILL, 6 to 8 inch planting holes were fast and easy.

This made it very easy to plant nearly one hundred bulbs this fall. I suggest using a powerful drill with a lot of torque if you got clay soil like I have in my yard. It's painted mild steel, so clean and dry it after use.

I've used a different product for years that had a single blade to dig into the dirt and the hole would immediately fill back up when it was pulled out of the ground. This double blade cuts easier and more efficiently so the dirt is now soft and my termite stakes now slide into the dirt pretty easily. Cut my time down exponentially.
